Privacy policy

What we collect, why we have it, and how to make us delete it. In plain English, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody.

Who is responsible

The data controller is Manel Pérez, trading as Talaso BrandLab. You can reach us about anything on this page at hi@getinked.ie.

What we collect, and why

When you ask for a callback. Your name, phone number, email address, what you run, when to call, optionally your studio or county and a message, and whether you asked for the newsletter. We use it to ring you back. Legal basis: your request, which is steps taken at your request before a contract.

When you claim or create a listing. Your work email address, the studio details you give us, opening hours, links and any photographs you upload. We use it to build and run your listing. Legal basis: performance of the contract.

When you pay. The payment itself is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. We keep a record that a payment happened, what for, and a Stripe reference. Legal basis: contract, and our legal obligation to keep accounting records.

When you subscribe to the newsletter. Your name and email, and nothing else. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Automatically. Our server records the IP address, browser and time of requests, in ordinary web server logs. We use them to keep the site running and to stop abuse of the forms. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a working, un-abused site.

The directory listings

The directory was built from publicly available Google business listings so that somebody searching for a tattoo in Ireland finds every studio, not only the ones who pay us. For a business, that is name, address, phone number, opening hours, website and public rating.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest, and the public interest in a complete directory, balanced against the very limited privacy impact of publishing business contact details that are already public.

Reviews. Where we show review text taken from a public listing, we shorten the reviewer's name to a first name and an initial, so a review cannot be used to identify the person who wrote it.

Getting removed. If you run a studio and would rather not be listed, email us from the studio's address at hi@getinked.ie and we take the listing down within 48 hours. You do not have to give a reason.

Who else sees your data

We do not sell your data and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. It is handled by a small number of providers who work for us:

  • Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd (Dublin) — processes payments
  • Hostinger — hosts the site and the database
  • Zoho — sends and receives our email
  • Google Analytics — measures site use, only if you accept cookies

We may also disclose data where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and customer records for as long as we are dealing with you, and after that for as long as they are useful for following up, unless you ask us to delete them. Ask, and we delete.

Accounting records are kept for six years, because Irish tax law requires it. Server logs are kept short-term for security.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to:

  • give you a copy of the data we hold about you
  • correct anything that is wrong
  • delete it
  • restrict what we do with it, or object to it
  • hand it over in a portable format
  • stop sending you the newsletter, at any time

Email hi@getinked.ie and we will answer within one month. There is no charge.

If you are not happy with how we handle it, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, which is the Irish supervisory authority.

Where your data is

Our servers are in the European Union. Where a provider processes data outside the EEA, it does so under the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.

Changes

If we change this policy we update the date at the top. If a change matters to you, we will say so rather than hope you notice.
